When Shantanu Maheshwari and Nityaami Shirke participated in the latest season of Nach Baliye last year it was reported that they are faking it as a couple. Now as per reports in Bombay Times, the duo has indeed parted ways and call themselves as each other's close friends. During an interaction with the daily, Nityaami opened up about their relationship and how they parted ways post their stint on the dance-based reality show.
Nityaami stated, "Shantanu and I started dating around April 2019, while we were shooting for the promos of a web series. During Nach Baliye, we were getting to know each other. Being on the show helped us bond because we dealt with a lot during those five months. Nothing ever went wrong with our relationship. It’s just that we realised that we are better off as friends. We called it quits in February this year. However, he is still very much a part of my life and a good friend. And, we prefer it that way."
A couple of months back, Shantanu had wished Nityaami on her birthday with a series of photos and a caption stating, "Wish you a very Happy Birthday @nityaami.shirke ... Unfortunately couldn’t make it last night (you know the reason) I’m glad I met you... as I got a friend who is lill badhir but Honest and Positive... taught me a lot of things... You have gone through a lot last year and faced it brilliantly... You are a strong girl... Wish all your dreams come true and you have a fabulous Birthday."
