Another actress who has become a household name with her performances on-screen was once an IAS aspirant. She left her UPSC dream to be a beauty queen and is now one of India’s richest television actresses. She is none other than Rubina Dilaik. 

Rubina Dilaik's Early Life and Education

Born on August 26, 1989, in Shimla, Rubina Dilaik is the daughter of a writer. She completed her schooling in Shimla and went to School and St. Bede's College, Shimla for further studies. The actress won several pageants in her early days too like Miss Shimla in 2006 and Miss North India 2008. 

Rubina Dilaik's Journey to Fame 

The actress is a graduate of English Literature with minors in Political Science and while she was preparing for being an IAS, the actress got selected in auditions for her debut television series Chotti Bahu. She gained recognition with her role as Radhika Shastri in the series and also reprised her role in the show’s sequel. 

She then worked in several TV shows like Saas Bina Sasural, Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed opposite Karan Singh Grover,  Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and Jeannie Aur Juju etc. However, she got major fame with her role as Soumya Singh in Colors TV's 2014 show Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki opposite Vivian Dsena. Rubina won Best Personality in Colors' Golden Petal Awards 2017 and Best Actress in ITA Awards 2017 for this show and it turned out to be a major turning point in her career. 

Then there was no stopping her. The actress then went on to participate in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 14 and impressed the audience with her strong and opinionated nature. The actress won several hearts and also won the title of that season defeating Rahul Vaidya. She also participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi and though she didn’t win the show, she gained praise for her fearless performance in the show. 

Rubina Dilaik Bollywood debut

After becoming a household name, the actress then made her Bollywood debut in 2022 with Rajpal Yadav-starrer Ardh. The movie also starrer Hiten Tejwaani and marked the directorial debut of singer Palash Muchhal. She was chosen from over 50 other girls who came for the look test and impressed the audience with her performance in the movie which was released on Zee 5. 

Rubina Dilaik personal life 

Rubina Dilaik married her long-time boyfriend and actor Abhinav Shukla on June 21, 2018. She revealed that her marriage was falling apart when they both participated in Bigg Boss 14 but at the end of the show, their bond grew stronger.

Rubina Dilaik has made a mark in the industry with her performances and enjoys a huge fan following. She is now one of India’s richest television actresses. According to several media reports,  the actress takes home Rs 10-15 lakhs per episode and reportedly has a net worth of Rs 32 crore.

Rubina is all set to make her Punjabi film debut with the movie Chal Bhajj Chaliye. The actress will be seen sharing the screen with singer and actor Inder Chahal in the movie and her fans can’t wait for the movie.
