'Ramayana's Arun Govil confirms demise of 'Sugreev' aka Shyam Sundar

'Ramayana' started to air on Television once again under coronavirus lockdown

Shyam Sundar Kalaani, who played 'Sugreev' in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana' is no more. His co-star Arun Govil, who plays the lead character of Ram in the show, confirmed the news without stating the reason behind the demise.

Arun tweeted, "Sad to know about demise of Mr. Shyam Sundar who played the role of Sugreev in Ramanand Sagar’s “Ramayan”... A very fine person and a gentleman. May his soul rest in peace."

'Ramayana' is being re-telecast on Television at 9 am and 9 pm on DD National. The character of 'Sugreev' was introduced on the show recently, when Lord Rama and Laxman, played by Govil and Sunil Lahri respectively, met him to help rescue Sita, played by Deepika Chikhalia.

Before being re-telecast under coronavirus lockdown, the cast of 'Ramayana' had arrived on 'The Kapil Sharma Show', spilling some shocking details. Arun Govil, Deepika and Sunil Lahri were present on the show, talking about their experience while working on the show.
