Singer Neha Kakkar breaks down during the auditions of 'Indian Idol' season 10 in Delhi.

It may seem hard to believe, but singer Neha Kakkar, who is popular for songs that are usually party numbers, including Main Tera Boyfriend, used to sing devotional songs.

Neha, who entered the music industry as a contestant on Indian Idol season two, is now back on the show, and this time as one of the judges.

During the auditions for the show in Delhi, Neha got pleasantly surprised when one of the aspirants introduced himself as the son of Jagdish Chugh.

Jagdish is the one with whom Neha had worked during her childhood. She would sing in jagrans then.

The singer got nostalgic on meeting Jagdish's son, and narrated how she and Sonu Kakkar (Neha's sister), would sing devotional songs along with Chugh's band.

The Sunny Sunny hitmaker remembered how the Chugh family had helped them during difficult times, and moved to tears.

Mrs. Chugh, on the other hand, took the stage and showered praises on Neha for being devoted to music from an early age.

"I was overwhelmed with emotions when I saw Mr. Chugh's son in front of me. The moment I realised who he was, I couldn't hold back my tears and the wave of memories from my yester-years," Neha said, as quoted by IANS.

"With moist eyes, I remembered how during difficult times the Chugh family had helped us. Mrs. Chugh appreciated my dedication towards singing and reminisced how along with my sister, I would arrive as early as 5 a.m. to sing and earn a sum of Rs 500. It was a touching moment for me and I could see everyone on the set smiling with tears in their eyes," she added.

Indian Idol 10, which will premiere on Sony Entertainment Television on Saturday, will be judged by Anu Malik, Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar. The host for this season is anchor and Bollywood actor Maniesh Paul
