Speculations about Disha Vakani's return to popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have been rife for quite a long time now. While the actress, who plays the character of Dayaben in the show, went on a maternity leave in 2017 and has not made her comeback to the sets as yet.
Recent reports even suggested that the makers are now planning to replace Disha Vakani on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, as she hasn't been able to give them a final date on which she'll resume shoot. A report on TOI had earlier suggested that Papad Pol fame actress Ami Trivedi has been approached to replace Disha as Dayaben on the show.
Though, Ami had rubbished the reports of her being the new Dayaben, the buzz suggests otherwise. She was quoted as saying by the portal, "No, I have not been approached, but my friends have been telling me that I should take up the role and would suit the character. I have not been offered the role, nor have the makers tried to reach me out."
Now, turns out that the producer of the show, Asit Kumar Modi, has taken a U-turn. While speaking to a news channel in his recent interview, Asit shared that he's open to all kinds of possibilities. He suggested that while the makers are in talks with other popular actors for the part, but also hinted that they're open to having Disha Vakani back on the show as well. He did hint that chances of Disha making a comeback also exist.
For those who've come in late, Disha Vakani had married a Mumbai based Chartered Accountant - Mayur Padia in November 2015. They became parents to a baby firl in September 2017. The actress has been MIA from the small screen for over a year now.
