Daily soap drama Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, that airs on Sony television and stars Varun Badola, Shweta Tiwari, and Anjali Tatrari in the lead roles, has been successfully keeping the viewers hooked to the screens.
With the couple recently getting engaged on the show in a roka ceremony, viewers interest has multiplied in order to witness the wedding ceremonies that will part of the show.
Niya Sharma, who plays the wedding planner, has planned all the rituals as part of the wedding ceremony. And as the couple prepare to tie the knot, Varun Badola talks about his character Amber’s state of mind.
The actor says, “A marriage between two people can be a roller coaster ride. It’s beautiful that you share your life with your most loved person, but it comes with its own set of responsibilities. Right from sharing space, devoting time to your partner and their family, and meeting everyone expectations involved, can be overwhelming, sometimes. It’s natural to feel nervous while taking the plunge. So, pre-wedding jitters is common, and people usually get them as they feel a mammoth sense of responsibility which will befall upon them after marriage. For the wedding sequence in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, I didn't have to prepare much. I just went with the flow of the character. After a point, I felt as anxious as Amber (laughs). But, in the larger scheme of things, the thought of spending your life with your loved one overshadows all other factors.”
Adding further to this, he said, “Even if the couple has been dating each other for so long, getting such thoughts is normal. But what really matters in the end is the person you are going to spend your life with. Amber will momentarily develop cold feet, but nothing compares to a lifetime of happiness with his ladylove Guneet by his side.”
The show has garnered popularity and the adulation of the audience, thanks to the nuanced performance by its lead cast. The viewers have loved the chemistry between Amber Sharma (Varun Badola) and Guneet Sikka (Shweta Tiwari), and the two are giving all the middle-aged people serious couple goals, by showcasing the thought that love can be found at a later stage in life, too.
A slice of life story about a father-daughter duo, and how the daughter want to hitch her dad with a suitable prospective bride, is a sopa drama that has captured the interest of audiences. Varun and Shweta's characters too are much followed and loved by viewers.
