Here's a little shocker for 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' fans. Ekta Kapoor's show is all set to go off air in October this year after ruling hearts for almost five years. The Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel starrer will be concluded on a grand note and the team will most likely be shooting the finale at a foreign location.
What's more? Divyanka, who played Ishita or rahter Ishi Maa on the show, has already bagged a lead role in Ekta Kapoor's upcoming webseries. The actress will don a toque blanche for the first time as she will essay the role of a chef. It will mark Divyanka's web debut.
Ekta confirmed the news with a tweet: “Ok since ppl got it! An official statement! A love story between two chefs! That shared pain betrayal a past and the love for FOOD! most love stories end in a kitchen this started in one. Doris Dey. Jaya Misra.” She also added that the original will be streaming soon on ALTBalaji.
A source further told Indianexpress.com, “The show will be a mature love story. It will be an emotional tale and will also have a tinge of comedy. Both Ekta and Divyanka are quite excited to start this new journey. Once the male lead is confirmed, the show will go on floors. It’s expected to launch by end of the year. Popular author Jaya Misra will pen the story for Ekta.”
Speculation around the show started after Ekta commented, “Thanu love ! Ishika cum going to be chef.” on Divyanka's latest Instagram post. The hunt for the male actor is currently underaway and 'YHM' fans have already started requesting Ekta to rope in Raman Bhalla aka Karan Patel opposite Divyanka.
Ekta's protegees - Anita Hassanandani, Mona Singh and Rithvik Dhanjani made their web dubuts with AltBalaji. 'Naagin' actress Mouni Roy, who recently made her Bollywood debut with 'Gold', is also expected to star in Ekta's ambitious project 'Mehroonisa'.
