Gao is a singer and actress who has acted in several Chinese films and TV dramas.

Gao took to Wibo to reveal that she underwent the nose job at the Xi Shi Shi Guang clinic in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou. Gao added that the operation lasted for around four hours during which the doctors removed cartilage from her body and used it to reshape her nose. "I didn't expect these four hours to be the beginning of a nightmare," she wrote.

Gao said she hoped the surgery would play a part in improving her acting career.

Gao said that the 'micro-adjustment' to graft cartilage onto the tip of her nose left the nose infected and required repeated follow-up surgeries.

Gao also suffered from nasal necrosis, which means that the tissue at the tip of the nose lost life.

Later, Gao found out that the hospital was not qualified to carry out the plastic surgery.

Gao remained hospitalised for two months. She lost GBP 45,200 in work and is facing an additional of GBP 225,621 for breaking her employment contracts.
