In Assam, 26.3% of women aged 15-49 consume alcohol, the highest among all states and UTs. This figure has significantly increased from 7.5% in NFHS-3 to 26.3% in NFHS-4.
2. Meghalaya

Meghalaya has 8.7% of women in the 15-49 age group consuming alcohol. This places it behind Assam but still significantly above the national average of 1.2%.
3. Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh saw a drop in women's alcohol consumption from 33.6% in NFHS-3 to 3.3% in NFHS-4. Despite this reduction, 59% of men in the same age group consume alcohol, the highest among all states.
4. Sikkim

Sikkim's women's alcohol consumption dropped sharply from 19.1% in NFHS-3 to just 0.3% in NFHS-4. This state saw one of the most significant reductions.
5. Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh reported a decline in women's alcohol consumption from 11.4% in NFHS-3 to 0.2% in NFHS-4. This indicates a significant drop in the percentage of women drinking alcohol.
