It is very difficult to grow and maintain long locks. Many people want to have healthy, long hair but do not possess the patience or the hard work that goes into it. However, Mumbai-based Akanksha Yadav is glad of her 9 ft 10.5 inches (3.01 m) long hair and sees it as a "blessing".
Today, it is this dedication and love for her long hair that has placed Akanksha Yadav in the Limca Book of World Records 2020-2022. The 30th volume of the records book features Akanksha Yadav's name for having the longest hair.
For the unversed, nobody has broken Akanksha's record for having the longest hair in India since 2019. The official letter by the Limca Book of World Records 2020-2022 reads, "Akanksha Yadav of Thane, Maharashtra, has the longest hair, which is 3.01m (9ft 10.5 in.) long."
Speaking about her delightful win, Akanksha Yadav told Indian Express, "Winning a national title in itself is significant. The records are great. However, fulfillment, contribution, and ardour are even greater."
Notably, Akanksha Yadav, who is a pharmaceutical and management professional, also holds the title for longest hair in the India Book of Records. When asked about the secret behind her long, luscious hair, the fitness enthusiast and model did not reveal her secret but called it a "blessing".
Speaking about how she manages to maintain and cut her floor-length hair, Akanksha Yadav said, "I don't spend over 20 minutes on hair wash or other hair tasks during a day. I have chopped from beyond floor-length to below the waist."
