A Gurgaon resident's video of his luxury cars damaged by floodwaters has sparked outrage online.

A resident of Gurgaon, who goes by the name Gajodhar Singh on social media, recently shared a video showing his high-end cars damaged after heavy rainfall in the city. The video, posted on Instagram, shows Singh's BMW M340i, worth ₹83 lakh, partially submerged in water.

In his post, Singh expressed his frustration with the city’s infrastructure and questioned the Gurugram authorities. “I pay my taxes, I pay bills, all to wake up one day to see my house, my BMW, Mercedes, and i20 stranded and gone,” he wrote. Singh mentioned that no authorities or officials had come to address the situation, adding that he felt “so broken” by what had happened.

Singh also mentioned that he tried to get a crane to lift his cars out of the water, but none would enter the deep water. His video shows the waterlogged road outside his house in Gurgaon’s upscale Sector 57.

In his Instagram post, Singh wrote, “This isn't Mumbai or Bangalore, welcome to the metro city of India, Gurugram/Gurgaon,” and urged his followers to tag local authorities to bring attention to his plight.

The video sparked a lot of outrage on social media. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Imagine seeing your car like this after paying half of its value in taxes to the government?” Another Instagram user commented, “Such a shame. And the government wants people to happily pay heavy taxes just to get flooded. Absolute joke.”

People expressed their frustration with the city’s infrastructure, with one person calling it “infrastructure getting dissolved,” and another highlighting water drainage as a major problem in Delhi NCR.
Gurgaon experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday, causing severe waterlogging and flooding in parts of the city. Residents stranded inside their homes or on waterlogged roads blamed delays in drain desilting measures for the flooding.

Singh's video brought to light the struggles faced by many Gurgaon residents during the heavy rains, highlighting the need for better infrastructure and prompt action from the authorities to prevent such incidents in the future.
