In a dramatic real-life imitating reel life incident, a newlywed bride in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri ran away with cash and jewellery owned by her groom and in-laws. The incident happened when the bride was on her way to her in-laws' house with her groom.
The incident that resembles the plot of Sonam Kapoor's movie Dolly ki Doli was reported from Paraunkha village of Mainpuri Bewar police station area. According to media reports, the groom, named Raju's marriage was fixed through a mediator, who placed a condition before his father, asking him to pay Rs 80,000 to the girl. Raju's father agreed to it as his son was not getting married.
Raju got married to a young woman on August 17 after the amount was given. The groom's side also gave the bride clothes, jewelry, and many other gifts. When the newly wed couple reached the bus stand to board a bus, the woman told Raju that she is thirsty and asked him to fetch a bottle of water for her.
When Raju returned with the water, he was stunned after seeing that his bride had disappeared and had taken everything along with her.
The groom has registered a complaint against his wife who ran away.
