Elon Musk brought home a Shiba Inu puppy named Floki, which immediately sparked buzz and a cryptocurrency token got named after him.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is known for attracting social media attention with his sarcastic and funny quips, but this time, his new pet has sparked a lot of buzz in the world of cryptocurrency. Musk announced that he had gotten a new pet dog, a Shiba Inu puppy named Floki, and the internet went berserk.

Musk’s new puppy had a major impact on the world of cryptocurrency, and as soon as the billionaire shared a photo of his Shiba Inu, the value of Dogecoin went up almost instantly. A crypto token has also been named ‘Floki’, after Musk’s new dog.

Elon Musk has made a lot of comments, expressing his love for the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, which has gotten its name from a Shiba Inu meme template. When Musk announced on Twitter that his new dog was a Shiba Inu, Dogecoin recorded a +0.36% change in the last 24 hours, along with a jump of +1.80% in Baby DogeCoin, which is a spin-off of Dogecoin.

Even before Musk even brought the dog home, he had received celebrity status on the internet, with netizens posting meme after meme on the new puppy. Apart from little Floki's early fame, he also got a cryptocurrency token named after him.

A cryptocurrency listed as ‘Floki Inu’ identified with the moniker ‘$FLOKI’ was seen on CoinMarkedCap soon after. The cryptocurrency has seen an increase of 11.43 percent in the past 24 hours and is currently standing at the value of $0.00003506.

The description of the Floki Inu coin reads, “Floki Inu is one brave puppy. A new crypto coin was birthed by fans & members of the Shiba Inu community. Floki Inu is Elon Musk’s very own Shiba Inu and he’s hungry for outer-space treats! He’s hyper-deflationary and built to reward you, so more Floki Inu coins are added to your wallet with each transaction.”

Elon Musk, with his statements in the past, has also helped Dogecoin gain legitimacy in the crypto world. At the beginning of the year, the token was worth less than one cent but it soon crossed the 10 cent mark in April, after Musk used to jokingly endorse it.
