Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding festivities started on Wednesday, July 3. Today, July 5, they hosted their third function – the Sangeet ceremony, at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). It was a star-studded event with celebrities showcasing their best fashion on the red carpet. However, it was the groom's sister, Isha Ambani, who stole the show with her stunning fashion choice.

Isha Ambani made waves at the Sangeet ceremony by wearing an electric blue saree paired with an extravagant silver detachable, sculptured blouse from Schiaparelli. This ensemble draws inspiration from Schiaparelli’s Fall 2024 collection presented at Paris Haute Couture Week earlier this year. Notably, this saree is a one-of-a-kind creation by the brand under the direction of Daniel Roseberry. Interestingly, this is only the second time Schiaparelli has made a saree; the first was in 1935.

Isha's outfit was completed with a beautifully draped saree and a diamond-embellished brooch, adding a luxurious touch to her look. Previously, she had dazzled in custom Chanel and Miss Sohee outfits at the pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar and then in vintage Dior and Tamara Ralph ensembles in Italy.

Fashion commentator Diet Sabya shared some intriguing trivia about Isha's saree on social media. She pointed out that Isha's saree is the first "modern day" Schiaparelli saree by Daniel Roseberry. The first Schiaparelli saree was made in 1935 and was inspired by Rani Sita Devi of Kapurthala, also known as Princess Karam in the West. Princess Karam's unique style influenced Elsa Schiaparelli's 1935 collection, which featured sari-like evening gowns, dresses with harem pants, and long lame scarves. Princess Karam herself remarked that some of the dressmakers were inspired by the sarees she wore in the summer of 1934.

The wedding festivities for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will officially start on July 12 with the Shubh Vivah ceremony, where the dress code is Indian traditional. On July 13, the Shubh Aashirwad ceremony will take place, with Indian formal attire required. The celebrations will conclude on July 14 with the Mangal Utsav or wedding reception, for which the dress code is Indian chic. All these functions will be held at the Jio World Centre in BKC.
