Epic Stories, the photography firm that captured Anant and Radhika's wedding festivities, recently shared intriguing insights into their approach. In an exclusive interview with The Indian Express, Himanshu Patel, the founder of Epic Stories, shed light on the challenges and strategies involved in documenting the high-profile event.
Patel has triumphantly delivered the most significant event of his career and is thrilled with the outcome. As the founder of Epic Stories, Himanshu Patel is no stranger to capturing celebrity weddings, having worked with couples like Karishma Tanna and Varun Bangera, Prince Narula and Yuvika Chaudhary, and Shweta Tripathi and Chaitanya Sharma. However, his latest assignment garnered close attention from both the invitees and those following along on Instagram.
Patel revealed that the scale of the wedding was unprecedented for his team. While they had experience covering celebrity weddings, Anant and Radhika's celebration was on a different level altogether. The Ambani family’s sole instruction was to maintain discretion. Patel explained, "The only brief we got was to be as unobtrusive as possible. Our goal was to capture the essence of the event without disrupting the guests’ experience."
To achieve this, the team had to meticulously plan their positioning. They coordinated with over 50 vendors, including choreographers, production teams, and show managers. This extensive planning ensured that photographers were well-positioned to capture crucial moments without being intrusive.
One notable technique involved using wildlife lenses to capture the pheras from a distance, allowing for close-up shots without being in the couple’s line of sight. This method was crucial for preserving the ceremony's intimacy while still documenting it in detail.
Himanshu also disclosed that several surprises were kept from Anant and Radhika. For example, the couple was unaware of Katy Perry’s performance during their European pre-wedding celebrations. Patel revealed, “We were aware of all the surprises planned for the couple, but Anant and Radhika were kept in the dark about certain events, including Katy Perry’s performance. Our role was to capture the moment of surprise as it happened.”
