As the 2024 Olympics kicked off in Paris on Friday, Microsoft founder and billionaire Bill Gates’s son-in-law, Nayel Nassar is also set to compete in the grand event for Egypt. He will participate in the Olympics for the third time.
Nassar who is married to the elder daughter of Melinda and Bill Gates, Jennifer had earlier represented Egypt at the 2012 London Summer Olympics. He also qualified for the finals of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Over the years, Nassar has grown and developed, becoming a seasoned player in the sports field. An Egyptian American professional equestrian, Nassar began riding horses at the very young age of five and jumping at the age of ten.
Born in Chicago, and raised in Kuwait, Nassar is an accomplished equestrian, having participated in numerous international horse riding competitions, including events like the Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) Show Jumping World Cup and the FEI World Equestrian Games.
In the 2020 Summer Games, he finished 24th for Team Egypt in the equestrian jumping competition.
Moreover, Nassar received support and encouragement from his mother-in-law, Melinda French Gates on her Instagram account. “So excited to watch you compete at the Olympics, Nayel Nassar. I’m rooting for you,” she wrote.
Many years ago, Nassar met Jennifer on the equestrian circuit, and then both started dating in 2017.
They got married in 2021 and welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March 2023. The two recently announced that they are expecting their second child soon.
