Bihar’s Nawada will now be connected to the Buxar-Bhagalpur Expressway. This expressway will enhance connectivity and development in Nawada. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced several initiatives for Bihar while presenting the Union Budget 2024 on Tuesday.
The new expressway will connect twelve districts, including Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Arwal, Aurangabad, Gaya, Jehanabad, Nawada, Jamui, Sheikhpura, Banka, and Bhagalpur. It is believed it will make travel and trade easier.
Currently, travelling from Buxar to Bhagalpur takes about 9 hours and covers 380 kilometres. With the new expressway, this journey will be reduced to just 5 hours. Additionally, the expressway will link with another major road, making travel between Patna and Lucknow possible in just 5-6 hours. Bhagalpur to Lucknow travel time will also decrease to 8-9 hours.
The finance minister allocated Rs 26,000 crore for the construction of both the Buxar-Bhagalpur and Patna-Purnia expressways. This funding will significantly boost the development of Nawada and other connected districts, making travel easier and contributing to regional growth.
Overall, the new expressway promises to bring positive changes to Nawada and the surrounding districts, enhancing connectivity across the region.
