Smoke-filled drama on Vande Bharat express: Passenger triggers fire alarm after smoking 'Bidi', details here
The individual, traveling ticketless on the Tirupati-Secunderabad route, lit a 'bidi' (traditional Indian cigarette) within the train's restroom, activating the fire alarm.
New Delhi: In India, there are moments when people exhibit audacious feats without succumbing to fear, and the forthcoming account stands as a vivid illustration of this. The Vande Bharat Express is once again occupying the limelight, though not for its velocity this time. Rather, the attention is fixed on a passenger who embarked on the journey without a ticket and yielded to the temptation of lighting a cigarette during the expedition.
On a Wednesday, a passenger aboard the Vande Bharat Express found himself in custody after he was apprehended while smoking within the confines of the train's restroom, subsequently triggering the fire alarm.
The individual in question was indulging in a 'bidi' (an indigenous Indian cigarette) while ensconced in the confines of the restroom on the Tirupati-Secunderabad train route.
Originating from Tirupati, he secured himself within the compartment of the C-13 coach restroom, where the event unfolded.
When he ignited the bidi within the compact space of the restroom, the aerosol fire extinguisher was automatically set into motion.
The incident, captured on video, swiftly propagated through various social media channels, depicting the interior of the train cabin enveloped in smoke as fellow passengers were systematically evacuated from the scene.
Following the occurrence, the implicated passenger was promptly apprehended by the Railway Police Force stationed in Nellore. Subsequently, actions befitting the violation as per the stipulations of the Railways Act are expected to be taken.
It has come to light that the accused individual had embarked on the journey without obtaining a valid ticket, further complicating the matter.
Consequently, the progress of the train was momentarily halted for an approximate duration of thirty minutes as a result of the unfolding incident, causing disruptions to the regular schedule.
