Author and philanthropist Sudha Murty has taken on a new role, and this time as a member of the Parliament. At the age of 74, she began her journey as a Rajya Sabha MP. Her son, Rohan Murty, expressed his pride in a recent LinkedIn post.

Rohan Murty highlighted his mother's many achievements, noting that she has been a professor of computer science, an author, a philanthropist, a mother, and a wife. "And yesterday, at the age of 74, she just started a new career - as a member of the upper house of the Indian parliament," he wrote. He also shared a picture of his mother ready for her first day, saying, "Here she is before she left home on her first day!"

Sudha Murty took her oath as a Rajya Sabha MP on March 14, in the presence of her husband, Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys. The oath was administered by Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar.

Sudha Murty was nominated to the upper house of Parliament on International Women's Day. Throughout her life, she has also received numerous awards.
