The majority of the lucrative internships at the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, went to female students. Social media users' reactions to a picture that has gone viral online that displays the Noida College's summer internship statistics are conflicting.

Women students at the college secured the majority of the top internships, including two positions at Google and at least seven at Microsoft. One male student appears to be among the top 16 interns for the next year in the photo.

The image originally appeared on Reddit and shows two female students from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in Noida who were able to secure internships at Google with stipends totaling ₹1.23 lakh. Microsoft offered internships worth ₹1.25 lakh to six more female students. A woman received the highest-paying internship at Atlassian, with a stipend of ₹1.30 lakh. The image was shared on Reddit and made its way to social media site X.

Women's recruitment turned out to be contentious on both platforms. One of the Reddit user said,  “Being born a man is a curse in this country." Another user chimed, “Companies need to maintain their gender ratio to look good in public and maintain their share price. So they take women who are capable enough to join even if they don’t need them. For men they only select if they really need you."
User wrote on X, “When women achieve something and men prove to be incompetent losers they imply that women have somehow scammed their way to success. Like there’s no end to their whining and playing victim."
