3 Indians in Forbes Asia's Heroes of Philanthropy list

Forbes has published its seventeenth annual list of philanthropists who, during the previous year, demonstrated dedication to the initiatives of their choice and made generous donations. 

Asian-Pacific names are featured on the list without a ranking.

Three Indians were honoured as philanthropists out of a total of 15. 

The Forbes Asia's Heroes of Philanthropy 2023 list includes the following Indians.

According to Forbes, Nikhil Kamath has promised to address energy, health, education, and climate change. Kamath, the youngest billionaire in India at 37, is a recent addition to this list.

As part of his 50th anniversary of affiliation with IIT Bombay, co-founder and chairman of Infosys Nandan Nilekani recently gave $38 million to the university. 

The former chairman of DLF gained notoriety when he raised $89 million by selling his last direct share in the Delhi-based real estate developer. 

According to Forbes, the money raised will support charitable causes and the KP Singh Foundation, which was founded in 2020.

Li Ka-Shing of Hong Kong, who donated $7.7 million for AI in medical education and research, is one of the other names on the list.
