5 IAS officers who quit their jobs to become entrepreneurs

Roman Saini: He cracked the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2014 in his first attempt. He was the youngest IAS then. However, he resigned from the services and began his venture, Unacademy.

Rajan Singh: He cleared the UPSC exam and served as the Police Commissioner of Thiruvananthapuram for 3 years. However, after 8 years of service, the ex-IPS officer joined the corporate world. Later he started ConceptOwl - an educational platform. 

Syed Sabahat Azim: He is a former 2000 batch IAS officer who resigned from civil services. Also a doctor, he launched a healthcare chain Glocal Healthcare Systems.

Vivek Kulkarni: He is a 1979 batch IAS officer, who quit the services after 22 years. In 2004, he co-founded Brickwork India, a knowledge process outsourcing firm that provides virtual assistants to global companies.

Pravesh Sharma: He is a 1982 batch IAS officer who voluntarily retired from services in 2016 after 34 years. He set up a start-up named Sabziwala.
