IAS officer salary and perks after cracking UPSC

The cream of aspirants who crack UPSC CSE exam become celebrated IAS officers.
Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers receive not only good salary but also perks.
Under the 7th Pay Commission rules, an IAS officer’s basic salary is Rs 56,100.
In addition to salary, IAS officers get other allowances including Travel Allowance and Dearness Allowance (DA).
The total salary of an IAS officer is reportedly over Rs 1 lakh per month.
At the highest rank, an IAS officer’s salary can reach up to Rs 2.5 lakh per month. Senior-most IAS officer position is cabinet secretary.
