Father used to sell milk on bicycle: Story of Ushma Joshi who got admission at IIM Ahmedabad

Despite the financial difficulties Ushma Joshi’s dream of getting selected in IIM Ahmadabad. Ushma, an Indore native, has gained a lot of knowledge from his father's struggle.

Due to her parents' hardship, Ushma has come to appreciate the value of hard work. Ushma attended school in Indore and earned grades of above 90% in classes 10 and 12.

Umesh Joshi, the father of Ushma, made a living by selling milk on a bicycle for 15 years. Following that, he began teaching kids in Indore. Today, Ushma's mother also works as a teacher at her father's computer institute.

She started getting preparing for the IIM while she was still a second-year B.Com student. The fact that Ushma Joshi passed the CAT exam on her first try and scored a 99.54 percentile on the entrance exam is remarkable.

Ushma passed the CAT exam on her own, using only the internet and self-study. She is currently an MBA student at one of India's most prestigious management institutes.
