Instead of passive reading, understand the concept of active learning to help reinforce your memory. 

Use visual aids such as diagrams, maps and more as they have a good retention effect. 

If you have a large topic then break it into smaller points. It will help you to learn and focus for longer duration. 

Use mnemonic techniques like rhymes, and acronyms. It has proven to be very effective among young students. 

Teach the concept or the topic to another person to others or yourself. It will help you to remember things. 

When you are studying, it's helpful to make notes. Keep a pen and paper and summarize every topic in a few words to understand the concept better. 

Practice as many mock papers as you can. This will make your memory stronger.
