Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, released in theatres on Thursday, June 27

The film, meant as a ‘sequel’ to the Mahabharata, includes some episodes from the epic and some hidden facts

But apart from the main cast, the film contains a number of starry cameos that have had fans cheering

Mrunal Thakur makes an appearance early on in the film as Divya, a pregnant woman caught by the villains from the Complex

Dulquer Salmaan has a 2-minute appearance in the film as a resistance captain, who adopts and mentors the protagonist Bhairava

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma appears briefly as Chintu, the owner of a roadside eatery in the 29th century Kashi

Baahubali, RRR director SS Rajamouli also appears in the film as a bounty hunter chasing Prabhas’ Bhairava

The loudest cheers in theatres were reserved for Vijay Deverakonda, who appears in two scenes as Arjuna from Mahabharat

The film also includes brief cameos of Malvika Nair as Uttara and Krishnakumar Balasubramanian as Lord Krishna
