5 must-watch movies of Prabhas before Adipurush

Prabhas portrays Raghava (Lord Rama) in Adipurush, based on Ramayana. The film, made on a lavish budget of more than Rs 500 crore, is set to release in theatres worldwide on June 16. Ahead of its release, here's a look at 5 must-watch films of Prabhas.

The list obviously begins with Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017). In SS Rajamouli's period action blockbusters, Prabhas plays the father-son duo of Amarendra Baahubali and Mahendra Baahubali protecting the Mahishmati kingdom.

Before the Baahubali films, Prabhas and SS Rajamouli collaborated on the action drama Chatrapathi in 2005. Prabhas as Sivaji protects people from the oppressors on the Vizag port, who begin referring to him as Chatrapathi.

The 2004 romantic action Varsham directed by Sobhan was the film that made Prabhas a superstar after its blockbuster success. In 2016, the film was remade in Hindi as Baaghi starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.

Prabhas-starrer Billa, the action thriller released in 2009, was the remake of the 1978 film Don headlined by Amitabh Bachchan. The superstar starred in the dual roles of Billa and Ranga in the Meher Ramesh directorial.

In 2013, Prabhas starred in the action-drama film Mirchi. The film was the directorial debut of Koratala Siva who is helming Jr NTR's next film with Janhvi Kapoor titled Devara. Mirchi was a blockbuster at the box office.

Apart from Prabhas, Adipurush stars Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Sita), Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Ravana), Sunny Singh as Sesh (Lakshmana), and Devdatta Nage as Bajrang (Hanuman).
