On September 11, 2001, the most horrifying terrorist attacks took place in United States of America when two airplanes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in the New York City.

The attacks, which were carried out by Osama Bin Laden's al-Qaeda terror outfit, killed nearly 3,000 people and launched the global war against terrorism, spearheaded by the America.

On the 22nd anniversary of the attacks, here are 6 Bollywood films which have attempted to showcase these terror attacks on the big screen and how the world changed after 9/11.

My Name Is Khan (2010) - Shah Rukh Khan plays an Indian Muslim living in New York who wants to meet the US President as his stepson has been killed because of the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

New York (2009) - Lives of three friends living in America change after the 9/11 incident when one of them walks upon the path of terrorism to avenge his arrest following the attacks.

I Am Singh (2011) - The Puneet Issar directorial, featuring Gulzar Inder Chahal and Tulip Joshi, is based on how the lives of Sikh immigrants changed in America after the 9/11 attacks.

Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota (2006) - The only film directed by Naseeruddin Shah follows four stories with multiple characters intertwining with each other in the 9/11 attacks in the climax.

Tere Bin Laden (2010) - The satire comedy, featuring Ali Zafar, Piyush Mishra, and Pradhuman Singh Mall, was a spoof on America's war against terror after the 9/11 attacks.

Mausam (2011) - Starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, the movie used 9/11 terror attacks in its plotline as the reason why Sonam's character returns to India after increasing hate crimes against Muslims.
