From food to currency, how Kalki 2898 AD's dystopian Kashi functions

Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone's Kalki 2898 AD will have a grand release on Thursday, and director Nag Ashwin has made sure to give the audience a never-seen-before dystopian world

Most characters' costumes are made of synthetic material, except for two characters, Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) and Supreme Yasakin (Kamal Haasan), who wear costumes made of cotton, as they both are ancient characters

Bomb blasts would be different

In the film, the characters of the film will be seen burning a chemical and making explosions as the fuel gets depleted. The colour of the fire will be different, and Nag called special chemical engineers to achieve it

Food

In the film, the earth's natural resources are exhausted. So, Nag said that he called for a special chef to come up with different dishes that will be shown in the film

New currency

In Kalki 2898 AD, the currency that is used is called units. Every citizen of Kashi is doing any transaction with the digital currency of units

Cars

Bhairava (Prabhas) will be seen riding on his robotic car Bujji. The futuristic car is made in India by Mahindra Group's Halo, and it reportedly costs Rs 7 crores. There are several other special cars in the film
