Meet Gadar 2's baddie Manish Wadhwa: Prakash Jha's discovery who was advised not to do Sunny's film

Born in a filmy family at Ambala Cantt, Manish was always inclined towards films. At the age of 11, Manish shifted from Ambala to Mumbai. During his college, Manish participated in Inter-Collegiate Drama Competitions, and won Best Actor Award five times.

In 1999, Manish turned to commercial theatre, and did stage plays Maa Retire Hoti Hai and Dr Mukta with Jaya Bachchan. In 2001, Manish made his big screen debut with Prakash Jha's Rahul. In the film, Manish played the antagonist, and he won praise for it.  

Manish made his television debut with Amrapali (2002). However, it was his mysterious character of Kali in Kohinoor (2005) that made him a household name. 

Manish gained immense popularity for his portrayal of Chanakya in the series Chandragupta Maurya. For this role, Manish was hesitant to shave his head. However, he is now living with his bald look proudly

After Chandragupta Maurya, Manish also played an important role in the series, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram, Peshwa Bajirao, Paramavatar Shri Krishna

Before Gadar 2, Manish was seen as the baddie in SRK's Pathaan. Manish was also seen in Shabri, Padmavat and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

Manish is also an ace voice-over artist, and he has voiced the famous character Winter Soldier aka Sebastian Stan in Marvel movies. His other dubbing titles include Narnia, Ferdinand, and Megamind

In many interviews, Manish revealed that a few people advised him not to do Gadar 2, as Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma's movies are 'old school'. But Manish followed his instinct and he's getting immense love for his performance.
