Before the epic drama Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy collaborated on five films together, and all of them emerged as blockbusters.
Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy first came together for the 2005 superhero film Batman Begins, the filmmaker's reboot of the DC Comics character.
Three years later in 2008, Murphy reprised his role as the villain Dr. Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow in The Dark Knight, the second Batman film directed by Nolan.

The 2017 historical drama Dunkirk, set during World War II, had Cillian playing a 'shivering soldier' in the film, which earned Nolan his first Oscar nomination for Best Director.
And finally, after 18 years, Cillian Murphy has landed the leading role in the Christopher Nolan film in Oppenheimer, which has released worldwide on July 21, along with Greta Gerwig's Barbie.
Cillian Murphy portrays J. Robert Oppenheimer, known as the "father of the atomic bomb", in Oppenheimer, which has received thunderous reviews from audiences and critics.
