From Crash Landing on You to Reborn Rich: Most watched K-Dramas in the world

The explosion of Korean pop culture globally has led to a boom in the popularity of Korean TV shows, commonly known as K-dramas

The World of the Married set new viewership records for its finale episode in 2020. The Kim Hee-ae and Park Hae-joon-starrer is a story of infidelity, betrayal and revenge and it had ratings of 28.371%, the highest for any Korean show.

A story of reincarnation, Reborn Rich follows Yoon Hyun-woo (Soong Joong Ki), who is reborn as the rich heir to the same family that betrayed him in his previous life. The show had viewership ratings of 26.948% in 2022.

When Sky Castle first began, it had a measly rating of 1% but the satirical drama about four ambitious housewives rose to garner 23.779% of the total viewership by late 2018.

One of the most popular romantic K-dramas, Crash Landing on You catapulted Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin to global superstardom. The story of cross-border love had a viewership of 21.683% in 2020.

Set in the late-1980s, Reply 1988 is the story of five ordinary families in a small neighbourhood of Seoul. Loved for its rooted and middle-class charm, the show had extremely high ratings of 18.803% between 2015 and 2016.
