In the 80s, each episode of Ramayan cost around Rs 9 lakh. Its revenue was around Rs 40 lakh per episode. Reports state that Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Ram, got Rs 40 lakh for the entire show
Dara Singh, who played the role of Lord Hanuman in Ramayan, got Rs 35 lakh for the entire show
Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana in Ramayan, got Rs 30 lakh for the entire show
