Dengue cases on rise: 8 do's and don'ts to remember

Here are some do's and don'ts to follow while battling with dengue 

1. Use mosquito repellent creams: Always use mosquito repellent creams while stepping out, especially during dawn and dusk. 

2. Stay hydrated: Always stay hydrated in order to back the body's recovery. 

3. Seek medication: If you develop symptoms like fever, headache and joint pain, consult a doctor.

4. Maintain hygiene: Keep a regular check on standing water around home, as they become hotspots for breeding mosquitoes. 

5. Protective clothing: Wear full sleeve clothes in order to avoid mosquito bites. 

6. Avoid self-medication: If you develop dengue symptoms, consult a doctor instead of self-treatment. 

7. Steer clear of standing water: Avoid visiting places with standing water, as they are the breeding grounds for dengue-carrying mosquitoes. 

8. Sufficient rest: Take proper rest to support the body's recovery process.
