The finance minister's fondness for sarees is well-known as she will present her seventh consecutive budget, surpassing Morarji Desai's record of six.

Nirmala Sitharaman posed with a tablet in a traditional bahi khata-styled pouch, dressed in an elegant beige saree with purple borders an d a matching purple blouse ahead of the Union Budget 2024-25.

For her first budget session, she wore a pink Mangalgiri silk saree with gold borders and carried a traditional red bahi khata instead of a briefcase.

In Budget 2021, she wore a Pochampally silk saree from Telangana with a distinctive Ikat design, supporting local artisans and Indian weaving communities.

For Budget 2022, she donned a Bomkai saree from Odisha, highlighting the state's handloom legacy with a brown drape featuring maroon and gold borders.

In Budget 2023, she wore a vibrant red silk saree with black temple motif borders, showcasing Kasuti embroidery from Karnataka's Dharwad region.

For Budget 2024, Nirmala Sitharaman paired a red bahi khata with a blue tussar silk saree adorned with kantha embroidery from West Bengal.
