Republic Day 2024: Unique features that make this year's parade special

India will celebrate its 75th Republic Day on January 26th. French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest for the celebrations at Delhi’s Kartavya Path.

This year, the parade is based on the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat — Loktantra ki Matruka’. 

The parade will start at 10.30 am from Vijay Chowk and proceed towards the Red Fort. 

In a first, an all-women tri-services contingent from the Army, Navy and Air Force will march down the Kartavyapath, leading the parade.

A 95-member marching contingent and a 33-member band contingent from France will participate this year.

Six Indians will also be part of the French military team that will march down the Kartavya Path along with Indian contingents.

A replica of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation’s Namo Bharat train will feature on the tableau of Uttar Pradesh.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s tableau participating in parade will showcase the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in various sectors and industries.

Eight women scientists from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who were part of India’s biggest space mission of landing on the moon - Chandrayaan-3 will march down Kartavya Path.
