Rajasthan, in particular, has several legendary forts with outstanding stone carvings, architecture and strategic constructions that immediately strike a chord in the minds of the visitors.

Amer Fort is located in Jaipur and it is one of the prime tourist spots in the city. The fort is built with red sandstone and marble. The fort includes various architectural marvels but the Sheesh Mahal or the Palace of Mirrors is the top attraction.

Chittor Fort is a UNESCO-declared World Heritage Site. The story of Rani Padmavati and her self-sacrifice during Khilji's invasion is known by all. According to legends, it is in this fort that the entire incident took place.  As per theories, the fort was built by a local Maurya ruler called Chitrangada Mori. It is believed that a water body located within the fort is said to have been created by Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers from the iconic epic 'Mahabharat'.

The Jaigarh Fort was built by Jai Singh 2 in 1726. This fort is built 400 m above Jaipur's Amer Fort as a protection layer. Both the forts are connected by passages. The Jaigarh fort features a cannon called 'Jaivana' which was the world's largest cannon on wheels at that time.

Neemrana Fort is believed to have been built by Yaduvanshis, the Descendants of Lord Krisha. Today it has become a top tourist spot.

Built in the 10th century by the Chauhan rulers, Ramthambore Fort is an architectural marvel. The fort has Toran Dwar, Mahadeo Chhatri and the Sametonkki Haveli making it an attraction point for a huge number of people.
