Actually, mangoes aren't invented! They are a naturally occurring fruit that originated in South Asia. India, however, boasts an incredible diversity of mango varieties, not invented but cultivated and nurtured over generations.

Here are 5 of the many famous Indian mango varieties:

Alphonso: The "King of Mangoes," Alphonso is known for its exquisite sweetness, rich flavor, and vibrant yellow color.

Kesar: Originating from Gujarat, Kesar mangoes are known for their saffron-like color and distinctive flavor.

Chaunsa: This heart-shaped mango from Bihar is popular for its juicy pulp and fibrous texture.

Banganapalli: Andhra Pradesh's Banganapalli mangoes are known for their large size and vibrant orange peel.

Dasheri: A classic North Indian variety, Dasheri mangoes are known for their golden yellow color and distinct aroma.
