Pavan Naidu

During winter season, most people tend to gain some extra kilos due to the lack of physical activity and the temptation of comfort foods. However, it is possible to stay fit and lose belly fat even during the cold months. And here are six indoor exercises that can help you shed those extra kilos.

Plank is a simple yet effective exercise for strengthening your core muscles, including your abs. To perform a plank, start by lying face down on the floor. Then, prop yourself up on your forearms and toes, keeping your body in a straight line. Hold this position for as long as you can, gradually increasing the duration over time.

Mountain climbers

Mountain climbers are a great cardiovascular exercise that also targets your abs. Begin in a push-up position with your hands directly under your shoulders. Bring one knee towards your chest, then quickly switch legs, as if you're running in place. Continue alternating legs for a set amount of time or repetitions.

Bicycle crunches are an effective exercise for working your abs and obliques. Lie flat on the floor with your lower back pressed into the ground. Place your hands behind your head and bring your knees towards your chest. Straighten your right leg while twisting your torso to the left, bringing your right elbow towards your left knee. Repeat on the other side, alternating sides in a cycling motion.

Jumping jacks

Jumping jacks are a simple yet effective exercise for getting your heart rate up and burning calories. Stand with your feet together and arms at your sides. Jump your feet out to the sides while simultaneously raising your arms above your head. Jump your feet back together and lower your arms to your sides. Repeat this motion for a set amount of time or repetitions.

High Knees

High knees are a great exercise for engaging your core and burning calories. Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Lift your right knee towards your chest while hopping on your left foot, then quickly switch legs, bringing your left knee towards your chest while hopping on your right foot. Continue alternating legs in a running motion.

Burpees

Burpees are a challenging full-body exercise that can help you burn fat and build strength. Start in a standing position, then squat down and place your hands on the ground in front of you. Jump your feet back into a plank position, then quickly jump your feet back towards your hands and stand up. For an extra challenge, add a jump or a push-up at the end of each burpee.
