Testosterone is the number one male hormone and is often associated with sex drive and sperm production.

It also affects bone and muscle mass and even affects men's mood. Hence, it's important to know which foods to avoid:

Flaxseed: It is high in lignans, which might lower testosterone levels. But, they are packed with healthy fats, fibre etc.

Mint: Research suggests that mint may cause a dip in testosterone levels.

Trans fats: It is unhealthy and has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and inflammation.

Licorice root: It is a herb that is frequently enjoyed as a tea. It might lower testosterone levels.

Alcohol: Some studies showed that consuming 30-40 grams of alcohol per day decreases testosterone levels in men.

Diet drinks: They are full of artificial sweeteners (including aspartame) and other chemicals. They lower testosterone levels.
