Dal, a staple in India and a versatile global dish, is enjoyed in many ways nationwide. Here are 7 of them.

Sambhar: South Indian staple, toor dal with drumsticks and tamarind broth, is tangy and aromatic, often served with rice or idli.

Dal makhani is a rich and creamy Punjabi dish consisting of kidney beans, cream, and black lentils. When cooked slowly with spices, it has a delicious aroma and a velvety texture.

Cholar Dal :This Bengali delicacy is a sweet-savoury dish made from split Bengal gram cooked with coconut, ginger, and whole spices.

Bootor dali: an Assamese specialty, is a thick, aromatic dish made from split chickpeas, enjoyed with Indian flatbreads and rice.

Chainsoo: Originating in Uttarakhand, this hot dal is made with black gramme. This thick-textured, hearty dish has a taste of local spices. 

Tidli Dal:This Sindhi dish is a blend of green moong dal, chana dal, white urad dal, ginger, and tomatoes, seasoned with spices for a tangy-spicy flavor.
