Pickle or “achaar”, as it is known in India, is a vital part of meals. Here are some healthy and delicious pickles to make in winter.

​Mooli ka Achaar: This spicy north Indian pickle is made with thickly sliced radish along with some green chillies.

Gajar ka Achaar: This is the best combination of sweet and tangy flavours and is made with seasonal fresh red carrots, which have various health benefits and promote weight loss.

Amla ka Achaar: This is quite tangy and spicy and is a combination of various spices like asafoetida and fenugreek seeds. 

​Gobi-Shalgam ka Achaar: A speciality from Punjab, this pickle is delicious as it includes a variety of spices and mustard oil. 

Adrak ka Achaar: This is a very popular Indian pickle which is not only healthy but also delicious and flavourful. 

Beetroot ka Achaar: This winter pickle is scrumptious and is packed with magnesium, potassium, iron, Vitamin A, B6, C and other nutrients.

Haldi ka Achar: This pickle is a Gujarati dish and is made with fresh turmeric root, salt, and freshly squeezed lemon juice, and has various health benefits.

Yam Pickle: Yam Pickle or Jimikand is one of the most delicious and easy-to-make pickles to eat this winter.
