Sudha Murthy, Infosys Foundation chairperson and is a pioneer in several ways as she was the first female engineer at TELCO (now Tata Motors). Sudha Murty is an educator, author and philanthropist. She is married to Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy.

Her ideas on money and its significance diverge significantly from how people perceive her. Despite affluency, which many associate with excessive indulgence in luxuries, Murthy has always advocated for the right way of spending money.

Sudha Murty, recently said that for her, money is "not that important", entrepreneurship is.

She said "I never aimed for money. For me, money is not that important. The creation of jobs, creation of wealth can uplift people who are below the poverty line, and for that entrepreneurship is very important."

Sudha Murty believes that this generation's only problem is overconsumption. According to her, your responsibilities increase as you become older, and thus the need to plan your finances accordingly.

Like Sudha Murty, who places more value on experiences than materialistic things, we should all learn to appreciate the little things in life.

Sudha Murty has always wished for her kids to have perspective and recognise that not everything comes easily in life.

Sudha Murty may not have been able to bring growth and wealth to her reputable organisation if she hadn't meticulously planned out her investments in advance.

Another advice from Murthy's guidebook is that money does not make someone extraordinary.
