Reasons for blast in ACs

Kumar Vishnu Kant

In the extremities of summer, temperatures soar. Air conditioners becomes a must in these times.

But some cases of explosion comes every year due to various reasons. Keep these reasons of blast in consideration so that ACs can function smoothly.

Flammable gas used in ACs are one of the primary reason for explosion, the gas gets leaked due to corrosion in outer wall and ignites.

Refrigerant leak

The summer forces ACs to run for extended periods, which leads to overload and overheat and causes explosion

Overload

Build up of dirt layer in the system can cause blockages and lead to overheating which causes blast in the conditioner

Dirt

Faulty wiring can cause resistance which leads to sparks in the AC and causes a blast if caught by a flammable material

Faulty wiring

Low and high voltage fluctuation can also cause the heating up of the system and explosion in it, if there is no stablizer or one of low quality has been used

Power surge

Low lubricants cause more friction which generates heat in the system and causes a blast

Low lubricant levels

Coolant gas should be of high quality and non-flamable. Other than this could lead to overheating and fires.

Inappropriate coolant gas

Material of low quality, some holes, or some kind of defects in the system while manufacturing could also be one of the reason for blast.
