A recent study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine highlights the significant impact of physical activity on health and longevity.

In the study, researchers examined data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), focusing on Americans aged 40 and above who wore activity trackers for a minimum of four days.

By comparing the most active individuals to those with the least physical activity, researchers discovered a positive correlation between exercise and life expectancy.

If the least active 25% of Americans increased their activity to match that of the most active quarter, they would need to incorporate roughly 111 minutes of walking (or an equivalent exercise) into their daily routine.

The benefits were substantial: theoretically, it could extend their lifespans by as much as 11 years.

Additionally, to add up to 11 years to your life, you don't need to walk 111 minutes all at once; this time can be spread out across the day.
