Tips to get rid of rough skin in winter

Khushi Patel

Use a Gentle Cleanser

Choose a cleanser that is gentle, fragrance-free, and doesn't remove the skin's natural oils. While cleansing, stay away from using hot water as this can exacerbate skin dryness

Moisturize Regularly

To seal in moisture, apply a rich, hydrating moisturizer as soon as you get out of the shower or wash your face. For added moisture, look for moisturizers that contain hyaluronic acid, glycerin, shea butter, or ceramides

Exfoliate Gently

This improves the penetration of moisturizers by removing dead skin cells on a regular basis. Once or twice a week, use a mild exfoliator to prevent over-exfoliation, which can make rough skin worse

Hydrate from Within

To keep your body hydrated and to help maintain the moisture levels of your skin, drink lots of water throughout the day

Humidify Your Home

To improve the moisture content of the air indoors, particularly in heated areas, use a humidifier. This aids in preventing dryness brought on by artificial heating

Protect Your Skin

When you're outside, cover up with hats, scarves, gloves, and protective clothing to keep the cold, windy weather off your skin. This lessens the chance of skin irritation and moisture loss

Avoid Long, Hot Showers

Steer clear of long, hot showers because they exacerbate dryness by robbing the skin of its natural oils. Choose to take shorter, more moderate showers or baths, and pat dry rather than rubbing your skin with a towel

Use Sunscreen

UV rays can still cause skin damage in the winter. To prevent sun damage, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 when you go outside

Apply Overnight Treatments

To thoroughly nourish your skin while you sleep, use overnight masks or treatments that contain hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid or natural oils
