India's star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is set to compete in men's javelin throw final on Thursday night.
The golden boy set his sights on achieving a 90-meter throw in the final at the Paris Olympics 2024.
But do you know how much a javelin weighs?
Men's javelin weight should be at least 800 grams (1.8 pounds).
Its overall length must be between 260 cm (2.6 m) and 270 cm (2.7 m).
Whereas, women’s javelin is shorter and lighter. Its length is between 220 cm (2.2 m) and 230 cm (2.3).
It should be at least 600 grams (1.3 pounds) in weight.
A javelin has three parts -- a head, a shaft and a cord grip.
The shaft (main body) of the javelin is made of metal or other suitable materials.
