10 star players who surprisingly went unsold in IPL auctions

Malan who had a base price of 1.5 crore in IPL Auction 2023 went unsold. It was shocking to see that his nomination was not able to trigger any bidding war among franchises and the player went empty handed.

Chris Jordan

The former CSK all-rounder going unsold in the auction 2023 was also a shock as he is known to bowl brilliantly in death overs for his team.

Sandeep Sharma

The star bowler who played for  Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past surprisingly went unsold in 2023, the Indian pacer had a base price of INR 50 lakh.

Paul Stirling

One of the top 10 run scorers in T20Is was set a base price of Rs 50 lakh. However, his nomination couldn't convince any team for his inclusion and he went unsold in 2023.

Jimmy Neesham

Neesham, who is a prominent player in cricket, surprisingly went unsold in 2023. He was set a base price of Rs 2 crore.

Tom Curran

While Sam Curran broke record of being the highest bid in IPL history (Rs 18.5 crore by Punjab Kings), his brother Tom Curran wasn’t able trigger any bidding war and surprisingly went unsold in 2023.

Mohammad Nabi

Former Afghanistan skipper who has delivered some commendable performances while playing for SRH, couldn't receive any bids as well in 2023.

Rassie van der Dussen

The South Africa star player who was expected to fetch some high bids surprisingly went unsold in 2023.

Suresh Raina

The players who had been retained most times by CSK in IPLs went unsold in IPL Auction 2022. When Raina played for CSK, the MS Dhoni-led franchise won IPL four titles (2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021). Raina not being selected again by CSK or any other team came as a shock in IPL auctions.

Daryl Mitchell

It was a shock to see that a talented player like Daryl Mitchell was not able to trigger bidding war last year among IPL franchises. But after noting his spectacular performances in World Cup 2023 campaign, he is expected to be a significant buy for several franchise in IPL 2024 Auction.
