Captains to reach ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup Final

MS Dhoni (India)

MS Dhoni made history by becoming the first captain to lead his team to the finals of both the ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup, and he emerged victorious in both tournaments.

Dhoni emerged victorious in the T20 World Cup final against Pakistan in 2007, He lead the team to victory in the 2011 ODI World Cup final in Mumbai against Sri Lanka on April 2.

Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka)

Sangakkara led the Sri Lankan team in the T20 World Cup final in 2009 against Pakistan and the ODI World Cup final in 2011 against India. Unfortunately, they came up short in both matches.

Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka)

Mahela Jayawardene was on the losing side in the ODI World Cup final in 2007 and the T20 World Cup final in 2012. 

Michael Clarke (Australia)

Clarke led the Australian team in the 2010 T20 World Cup final, where they lost to England. However, he redeemed himself in the 2015 ODI World Cup final by guiding Australia to win over New Zealand.

Eoin Morgan (England) 

In 2016, Eoin Morgan suffered a loss in the T20 World Cup final against the West Indies. However, he redeemed himself in 2019 by leading his team to victory in the ODI WC final against New Zealand.

Kane Williamson (New Zealand)

Williamson led his team to the ODI World Cup final in 2019, but lost to England. Then, in 2021, he captained his team to the T20 World Cup final, only to fall short against Australia. 

Rohit Sharma (India)

Rohit Sharma led the Indian team in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, but unfortunately, they were defeated by Australia in Ahmedabad.

The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, has made it to the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup! They will be going head-to-head against South Africa in the deciding match on June 29.
