In 2008, the legendary Australian cricketer Shane Warne led the Rajasthan Royals to victory in the inaugural IPL season.

Warne was a key player for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL until 2011. He captained the team for all four seasons before retiring.

Shane Warne called it quits on his international cricket career in early 2007, so he wasn't on the field representing Australia during the inaugural T20 World Cup in September of the same year.

Warne, the star of Australia's 1999 ODI World Cup win, played in 194 ODIs but retired from ODI cricket in 2003. Surprisingly, he never played a T20I for the national team throughout his career.

Shreyas Iyer, the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders who led them to victory in the IPL 2024, has not yet had the opportunity to represent India in a T20 World Cup.

Iyer captained the Kolkata Knight Riders, leading them to one of the most dominant campaigns in history. The team only suffered three losses throughout the entire season.

Iyer clinched the IPL title for the first time in his career. Notably, he is the only captain in IPL history to lead two different teams to a final.

Despite having played 51 T20Is for the Indian national team, Shreyas Iyer has never been selected for the 15-man squad in a T20 World Cup.

Iyer was part of the traveling reserves for the 2021 and 2022 T20 World Cup. However, he was not considered for the 2024 World Cup due to a contract snub.
